5 Awesomely Quick Exercises You Can Do Whilst Brushing Your Teeth

by Sam Talbot

Efficiency is the name of the game, and the time you spend brushing your teeth is an ideal time to burn a few extra calories, improve your mobility, and add in some strength gains.

For most of us brushing our teeth is a pretty routine activity that happens a couple of times a day. We stand, often blankly, contemplating what the day will bring or what it brought. So here are our 5 best tips to a better you, in front of the mirror using just one hand! The best part is... it takes 3 minutes, FLAT!

1. Lunges

Nothing builds leg strength, core strength, and bolsters balance quite like a lunge!

Grip that toothbrush hard and give us 20 alternating lunges!

2. Squats

Squats boost your flexibility, mobility and work wonders on strengthening the legs, and core. Make sure those knees don't track over your toes, and keep your chest upright, shoulders back, and abs tight.

Just like the lunges, aim for 20 reps.

3. Calf Raises

Who doesn't crave amazing calves? Calf raises and brushing your teeth are a marriage made in dental heaven! 😉

Keeping your toes in constant contact with the ground, raise the heels, and repeat without letting your heels hit the floor.

Go for 50 reps counting up for 2 and down for 2 and feel the burn!

4. Wall Squat Hold

An awesome exercise for developing not only strength in the thighs but also for preventing runner's knee. Push your back into the wall, and drop until your knees are in line with your hips, keeping your knees at a 90 degree angle. Brace that core. Breathe. And hold for 30 seconds.

5. Cardio Blitz

The average 2.5 minutes most folk spend brushing their teeth is up!

Pop down the toothbrush, and put away your pride! Close the bathroom door, make sure no one is watching and sprint on the spot for 30 seconds to finish off your mini-workout!

Job Done!

Supplementing your regular workouts with some incidental exercise helps boost your metabolism, boost your circulation, increase your fitness and catapults your mobility. Exercise everywhere!
